Farmer's Break

BEST OF SHOW: Fifth generation farmer Phil Porterfield, 69, rest on his utility vehicle for a moment before continuing to chop corn Tuesday evening, Sept. 24, 2013. Despite Phil losing his right leg in a farming accident in 1994 and his wife Renee undergoing the early stages of Parkinson’s, the two solely maintain the farm that dates back to 1853 in Phil’s lineage. (Photo by Anthony Wahl/The Monroe Times)
