John E. “Jack” Kile, 85

John E. Kile, known to many of us as “Jack,” died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at the age of 85 in Wausau, Wis. He was formerly of Milwaukee, and for many years he was president of Reimers Photo Materials.

“Reimers was an institution in the Milwaukee photo community for over 100 years,” said WNPA member Bill Meyer. “Jack was…probably the largest benefactor to the Milwaukee area photography industry and a friend to a great many photo and graphics related businesses. A lot of people in the greater Milwaukee area owe a debt to Jack for helping them get their start in the photography business. He will be missed.”

Kile is survived by his wife, Eleanor Coleman, two sons and four grandchildren.
