Convention 2010: Aaron Johnson joins speakers list

The Wisconsin News Photographers Association is pleased to announce that Aaron Johnson joins the list of speakers for WNPA’s convention at Hotel Metro in Milwaukee, Wis., on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Johnson is the creator of “What the Duck,” a popular comic strip that tells the tales of a camera-toting, Photoshop-using duck.

Originally meant to be a lark, Johnson started the feature in July 2006 on his band’s Web site. The strips took on a life of their own and quickly exploded in popularity with comics fans and camera aficionados, taking Johnson’s unruffled duck on a journey that’s landed him in daily syndication. He keeps his fans engaged on his Web site by allowing them to help name his new, untitled strips.

Raised near Green Bay, Wis., Johnson is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago in animation. He lives in Oak Creek, Wis., with his wife, Patty, and two young children, Jonas and Clare.
